“For many years, I worked exclusively with graphite pencils. For 13 years, I worked with very hard
pencils, 6H and 7H, sharpened to needle-sharp points. Around 1988, I began to experiment with a variety of new materials and my style began to evolve. I came to love 4B and 6B woodless pencils and got involved in the creamy darks that they offered."
